Ava

I was born on: 10 October 2015

I’ve been here since: June 2023

I like: games, and people!

I dislike: being ignored

I found my forever home: not yet…

Imagine a gorgeous, tabby cat: her fur shining, her amazing eyes brightening up with joy when she sees you, her belly ready for petting when the kitty twists and turns in a basket, asking for your attention. Imagine how she’s always there to greet you when you come home from work, looking at you with so much love you can barely take it. And now, imagine that this cat will probably never leave our shelter, because she is FIV positive.

Her name is Ava and she was taken off the streets by a person who initially intended to keep her. She is not young but, as expected, when she found out that she is FIV positive, she contacted us to take her, not to put her back on the streets. She vaccinated her, tested her, and also offered help with vet expenses for cleaning Ava’s teeth and extractions if necessary. Well, the last part never happened but we are already used to this and don’t even care anymore, we just do what needs to be done and what’s best for the cat in our care.

This is how Ava came to us, a bit skinny and a bit confused, but both of these changed really fast. Her life on the streets would have been without medical care or enough food, not protected or sheltered from dangers. Ava is a people’s cat 100% and not very enthusiastic about cats, especially when they are pushy or want to get in front of her when it comes to cuddles. But with us, she is just super sweet, loving, adoring to be center of our attention. Well, of course, she has her limits and her moments, she can seem irritated at times or sassy. We call these cats “princesses” or “royal highnesses” and we just love them for who they are – sweethearts with an attitude, but that makes them even more special.

Even if we know Ava’s chances are very slim, we have decided to write her story. Even if no forever family will ever come along, at least some people will see her and at least think: “well, that is a gorgeous cat!” Secretly though, we do hope that one of these people will seriously consider to take Ava under their protection, to love her at least as much as we do and to offer her a life free of worries and full of happiness.

Now imagine Ava in her own home, sitting on a couch with her own human mom or dad, while she’s being cuddled. Wouldn’t it that be just AMAZING

Adopting a cat from our shelter can only be done through an adoption contract. Why? Because we care! The conditions imposed by the Friends of Cats Association are easy to meet when the person who wants to adopt is a responsible human being and really loves cats.

Thank you!
