Captain Jack
I was born on: 20 September 2023
I’ve been here since: April 2024
I like: attention
I dislike: noise
I found my forever home: not yet…
This adorable guy who melts everyone’s hearts had a tough start in life: he was found on the streets when he was some months old and was taken to a vet clinic until he could be vaccinated. Unfortunately, a flu surfaced so he had to be treated first, vaccine got postponed again and again so he spent quite some time in a crate. He got the biggest crate they had, but still he was sooo desperate for attention.
When I first saw him he was sitting quietly and resigned. He had gotten used to the idea that he gets attention when there is time and that’s it, and with everything going on in a clinic he did not have the chance to enjoy as many cuddles as he would have wanted. He was so bored! He had just received his first vaccine, so I had permission to open the door of the crate. Oh, the joy! He even showed me his belly, he pushed me with his head, he was so so sweet! And sweet he remained to this day.
He looked like a painting of a pirate, gorgeous, handsome, bold so I named him Captain Jack. Few weeks later, after also being neutered, he came to us. This was his first “test”, to get adjusted to all the cats and all the people. He got a room first, so he can see the other kitties through the window then slowly, he got to meet them. He accepted them without problems, especially that he was more interested in the new space and the outdoor pen. You barely saw him inside the whole summer, his days seemed to be full with walks, discoveries of his new place, watching the birds and the trees. You could see him together with others but also alone.
Jack is sweet to the cats and he was particularly gentle with the kittens, when they came. They played together, ran through the entire place, they had fun. With us, he was patient. Not pushy at all, he waited for this turn to get attention and cuddles. And when you did give that to him, that’s when our boy shows off: belly up, head-butts, purrs and demanding more. He really really enjoys the love and gives back 10 times more <3
Our adorable Captain is now looking for his “ship”. We picture him in a warm, welcoming home, cuddling up to his humans on cold, winter nights, or just sitting by their side when it’s cuddle time. We see him waiting for his people to come home from work on a window sill and then welcoming them happily. We see him adored and pampered, happier that he would have ever imagined. If there is such a “ship” and such a “crew” for him, then we’ll know our Captain Jack is finally HOME!
Adopting a cat from our shelter can only be done through an adoption contract. Why? Because we care! The conditions imposed by the Friends of Cats Association are easy to meet when the person who wants to adopt is a responsible human being and really loves cats.
Thank you!
