Miu Miu
I was born on: 1 May 2018
I’ve been here since: May 2024
I like: to be smothered with cuddles, to be loved
I dislike: exaggerations
I found my forever home: not yet…
Miu Miu – named so by her rescuer, was found on the streets, sick and pregnant. Whether she had once a home or human parents, we will never know, but what we know for sure is that, even if she had, they did not deserve her – she is a very special, wonderful, jolly cat, both a lover and a “fighter”!
After she was found, Miu Miu was taken to the vet to be treated for the bad flu she had and spayed. She was lucky that the woman who stumbled upon her did not pass by, but hurried with her to the doctor’s, where she stayed for about a week until she got better and then found a foster care for her. She got care, food and attention and, after her vaccinations, she came to us.
It was love at first sight, I must say <3 With her short nose and “painted” face, the first thing I wanted to do was hug her – of which she did not really approve. She was not scared of us but not feeling at home either on day one – which is absolutely normal, but she got used to us and the shelter pretty fast. It’s only that I was impatient, because Miu Miu is so adorable really! Short legs, not a big cat at all, a bit plump – but just a bit, friendly and sweet, also playful with a pinch of mischief. I so so love to cuddle her a bit “rough” because that’s when she throws herself on her back, belly up and fights with your hand, being careful not to bite or scratch.
It’s not easy for any cat to adapt when they come to the shelter, or when they find themselves in a new environment. People are new, cats are new – and in the shelter, they are also many and even for a human being it wouldn’t be easy. Still, when coming to us, they have no choice, they have to find a way to live together with the others, they have to find their own special spot. Miu Miu’s special place is on a shelf, on the trrace – which is connected to their outside pen. She just loves sitting there in a soft basket, just near the bowl of dry food, she likes to take walks in the pen, comes into the house to greet us when we come to the shelter and walks around if she wants to. She has no problem in sharing her basket with another cat and really appreciates it if you don’t forget about her when it’s food time: she does love a tasty pouch of wet food. And if I pet her and take a bit of time cuddling her, she’ll then follow me around everywhere, stretching her paw to “catch” me if I am not paying attention, letting me know she’s there. Such a sweetie, this Miu Miu of ours <3
Miu Miu was estimated to be around 6, but let me tell you that she is still a kitten at heart. Maybe I see her like that because she is small, but also because she is playful and loves a good game! She is not pushy and not holding grudges, so from this point of view she resembles a bit older, wiser cat but one who hasn’t lost at all her optimism and trust in people, no matter what she’s been through. It’s very hard to describe her though because she is so many things in the same little body: funny, sweet, serious sometimes… But the feeling you get if you’re close to her, when you interact with her, when you just look at her is of pure joy and serenity. She has something which I cannot really touch but I feel it’s there and it makes her unique.
Now, this amazing cat of ours called Miu Miu is looking for her own place – which she will certainly “spice up” a bit and to which she would bring a lot of joy and even more smiles. The family who will adopt her will be lucky to have her indeed: imagine that with much fewer cats, Miu Miu would also have the chance to show all of herself, all the time. She wouldn’t be “limited” to the time when someone is there and can give her some attention, as she is now. I am sure she’d be very very happy, over the moon even, to be taken care of better, to be part of a family, to have the stability of a forever home. After all, there is no place like home, right?
Adopting a cat from our shelter can only be done through an adoption contract. Why? Because we care! The conditions imposed by the Friends of Cats Association are easy to meet when the person who wants to adopt is a responsible human being and really loves cats.
Thank you!
